The client had been dealing with ongoing issues relating to excessive dust circulation throughout the home and highly irregular indoor temperatures across different seasons. The original ceiling insulation had significantly deteriorated due to age, resulting in poor thermal performance and allowing large amounts of dust and debris to build up within the roof cavity over several decades. This not only affected the air quality inside the home but also made heating and cooling far less effective. In addition, the property suffered from extremely cold floorboards during winter, creating an uncomfortable living environment and increasing energy usage.
To restore the home’s comfort and efficiency, we safely removed the old deteriorated ceiling insulation and completed a comprehensive high-powered dust vacuum throughout the roof cavity, eliminating over 50 years’ worth of accumulated dust, dirt, and contaminants. Once the space was thoroughly cleaned, we installed new high-performance ceiling insulation to significantly improve temperature regulation and overall energy efficiency.
To further address the client’s comfort concerns, we also installed underfloor insulation beneath the home to reduce cold drafts and minimise heat loss through the floorboards. The result was a noticeably cleaner, healthier, and more temperature-stable home with improved comfort year-round.
